First things first:

CONGRATULATIONS! If you have just given your life to Jesus Christ, this is the most important decision you will ever make. Congratulations! Today does not simply mark a change in direction; it marks eternity.

The Bible says in Luke 15:10, “There is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Heaven is celebrating right now. The angels rejoice when even one person turns to God and if that person is you, then all of heaven has taken notice.

But let’s be clear about why this decision matters so urgently.

Without Jesus, every one of us is on a path that leads to eternal separation from God. We are not self-made. We are creation, and we have a Creator. One day, whether we are ready or not, we will stand before Him in judgment and give an account of how we lived on earth.

Ask yourself honestly: If you measured your life against the Ten Commandments, would you be found innocent? Have you ever lied? Lusted? Stolen? Used God’s name in vain? By this measure, you will see how we fall short and how we need Jesus in our lives. 

If we continue living apart from Jesus, the destination is clear. That is judgment, in this case, which is Hell for eternity. 

That is why Jesus came. Jesus came to save the lost, the sinners. He came to take the punishment, which we truly deserve and offer us forgiveness, freedom and eternal life. This is why accepting him as your Lord and Savior is important.

If you have turned from your sin and trusted in Him, you have crossed from death to life. If you have not, do not delay. Tomorrow is not promised. Eternity is real. And Jesus is the only way.
